Calacatta marble seat (G. Minnucci)

This extremely beautiful sculpture-seat was designed by the Architect Gaetano Minnucci for the entrance to the public hall at Palazzo Uffici.
The bench, which is made from a single piece of Calcatta marble, breaks up the rigid geometry of the atrium, emerging in a strongly dynamic manner from the floor on which it stands.
Its static structure features a continuous support at the front and a single supporting element at the back, giving the whole piece a sense of great effect and lightness.
